Our approach and team
People first. Technology as a tool.
Changefied began with a human need: helping neurodivergent people become more independent. We build safe VR learning environments where people can act, make mistakes and repeat situations with guidance.
From guided practice to everyday life
Teachers and support professionals choose learning goals, guide the experience and assess what a learner can apply outside VR. Virtual practice complements real-world learning rather than replacing it.
Building towards Virtual Empowerment
Virtual Public Transport is our current core module. Virtual Empowerment is our broader development direction: reusable modules for practising skills across different areas of everyday life. This does not mean a complete suite is already available.
Discuss what fits your setting
We work with schools, support organisations and public authorities. Current deployment focuses on the Netherlands. International use may require adaptation to language, local transport practices and the educational context.
Tim van Dam
Founder and CEO
I started Changefied because people deserve opportunities to become more independent in a way that suits them. Daily situations can be demanding for neurodivergent people. A safe place to practise can help make the next step possible.
My background is in IT. I use that experience with our team to build VR learning environments where people can take action, make mistakes and repeat situations. What motivates me is what this can mean in everyday life: making your own choices and being able to go somewhere yourself.
Erik Welling
Founder and Chief Technology Officer
I was studying game technology when I was asked to help develop Virtual Public Transport. Serious games combine the creative challenges of game development with work that can support people in everyday life.
We continued independently in July 2023. In 2025, I completed my Master’s degree in Game and Media Technology at Utrecht University. I enjoy developing our team and learning environments further.
Karin Kleingeld
Chief Value Officer
I bring experience in value strategy and realisation to support Changefied’s development. My work connects strategy with practical implementation and sustainable value creation.
I believe entrepreneurship and social responsibility belong together. Our focus on education and everyday independence is an important part of that work.

Joke de Haan
Behaviour specialist
With a Master’s degree in Special Educational Needs and experience as a behaviour specialist, I focus on learning environments that support students’ development.
My work draws on Gert Biesta’s three educational domains: qualification, socialisation and subjectification. Education involves knowledge, personal development and participation. As an initiator of Virtual Public Transport, I work with Changefied to connect new learning approaches to students’ needs.

Thomas Korver
3D modeller
I was looking for work that would let me use my interest in 3D modelling and animation. After reading about Virtual Public Transport, I contacted Changefied because the educational side appealed to me.
I now contribute 3D models across our learning environments. I enjoy the variety of the work and the opportunities to keep developing my skills.

Remco Buis
Game developer
After my studies, I worked at NIPO for twenty years. When I later looked for a new role, I found it difficult to adapt to newer ways of working because of my neurodivergence. Local support in Alkmaar introduced me to Changefied.
The work is creative and supports neurodivergent people like me. I appreciate being able to work independently and having a voice in the team.

Anthony Quach
Software developer
I enjoy programming because it calls for creativity and problem-solving and there is always more to learn. Developing VR software gives me those challenges.
Changefied’s purpose matters to me. My colleagues give me understanding, time and space when I need it. I am proud to contribute to work that helps people navigate difficulties in everyday life.
